mission

When we talk about "Mission" we think of simply answering the question, "What are we trying to do?"

The answer to that question for us is simple.

We exist to love our community in the name of Jesus.

We believe the church should have a reputation for loving people. The goal of Mill City Church is to love people the same way we have been loved by God. We exist to love the community of Northeast Minneapolis in the name of Jesus.

We are trying to figure out how to live this mission on a day to day basis together. We focus on serving Northeast Minneapolis right now by supporting the work of the Sheridan School where we meet on Sunday mornings. We want to love our community by helping that school be the best it can be.

We are building relationships with each other so we can help each other when we need it, encourage each other during hard times, give to each other when someone has a need.

Our model for loving each other comes from the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We look to Jesus to learn how to love well, how to love selflessly, how to think of others as more imporant than ourselves. We believe that if we trust and follow Jesus Christ, our lives will be changed and we'll become more and more the people God intends for us to be.
